“It is a great time to get into the Real Estate market or increase your holdings, prices continue to rise and we are still at historic lows for interest rates.
Comparing May 2018 with same period 2017, we see continued good news.
Single family home sales on the west side in 2017 – 169 in 2018 – 195 for an increase of 15.3%.
On the east side of town was good as well, 2017 – 66 and in 2018 – 68 for an increase of 3.03%.
Average prices increased as well, so if you are a home owner, your investment is doing well.
On the west side of town average sales price 2017 – $332,775 in 2018 – $372,090dn. 11.8%.
And on the east side of town even better again 2017 – $267,465 in 2018 – $316,545 up 18%.
Being a home owner in Georgetown is a very good idea!! Buy now!
All around gains across the board, with new construction on both sides of the highway.
If you lived in your home that you own on January 1st, be sure that it is homesteaded with the appraisal district for tax savings. The city has once again lowered the effective city real estate tax rate percentage, but with increased values the total tax burden may go up, so take advantage of all the exemptions you can.
