Full Time Cook

ABOUT THE POSITION
Do you love to cook for others but don’t want the pressure of a large made-to-order or cafeteria style kitchen, nor the repetitiveness of a fast-food kitchen? If you prefer a smaller, family type environment, we may just have the job for you. We are seeking a full time Cook to join our dedicated kitchen staff serving a small group of retirees. They aren’t just a bunch of old guys. These gentlemen are retired faith-based professionals who have sophisticated tastes. You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of breakfast and lunch meals, including soups, salads and entrees, in our professional kitchen, from 7:00a to 2:00p, Monday – Friday. It is not cook to order. You prepare meals based on a pre-determined menu in a quantity large enough to feed 12–16 gentlemen.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Prepare all served food
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours
- Comprehend menu items, abbreviations, and timing to ensure hot when served
- Follow standard recipes and special diet orders
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
- Provide manager with grocery and supply needs, and other updates as required
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances

REQUIREMENTS
- Texas Food Handler’s License
- Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields, as well as knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
- Drug/Background Check: All offers of employment may be subject to receipt of a background check report and/or drug screen
