The Preservation Fund Grant Program application period has closed as of September 30th and the organization says there are lots of applications.
“Applicant projects range from foundation repair to window restoration to porch restoration,” according to a newsletter from Preservation Georgetown. It’s so great to know there are so many property owners who value historic preservation!”
Applications will now go through the review and evaluation process by the Preservation Fund Grant Committee. Initial evaluations are expected to be completed by October 16th followed by any necessary site visits. Final determination on grant awards will be completed and announced by October 31st.
“You might be asking yourself if all qualified applications will be funded,” the organization said. “While we would LOVE to fund all of our applicant projects, much depends on the amount of funds available. Unfortunately one of our funding sources for the program, our annual Historic Home Tour, was negatively impacted by Covid-19. As such, funds this year are limited which makes the evaluation process quite competitive! We are currently encouraging and accepting donations for the program!”
