Restaurants and drinking establishments took in more than $1.4 million.
Lodging during the 2014 Red Poppy Festival brought in more than $419,00.
Tourist attractions, this brought in over $21,000.
And in retail sales over $644,000 was spent.
Plus the weekend created 34 full-time jobs.
We all know these numbers are low compared to more recent Red Poppy Festivals.
According to the Sun’s article and Cari Miller, Georgetown Convention and Visitors Bureau Manager, the Red Poppy Festival has grown since 2014. With the estimated attendance growing from 45,000 to 65,000.
