According to an article from CBS Austin dated 7/3, there was a complaint about a pipe draining water into the South San Gabriel River upstream from Blue Hole Park in Georgetown.
According to the article, crews responded and traced the leak to a sewer cleanout several blocks away that was overflowing into a stormwater inlet.
Crews were able to stop the leak and are disinfecting the stormwater line.
The city has reported the leak to the authorities and say they can’t be sure how long the leak existed or if it entered the San Gabriel River.
