Here’s another reason to Love Georgetown! It’s the 2018 Spring Break Camps from Georgetown Parks and Rec Department and it’s time to get signed up. This year the city offers Goodwater Camp, Tennis Camp, and Teen Adventure Camp. Registration starts February 1st.
Goodwater Spring Break Camp
Ages 5, enrolled in Kindergarten, to 12
Camp Goodwater is a day camp for children ages 5 to 12, offering a variety of traditional and non-traditional camp activities, including swimming, challenge course, games, crafts, board games, weird science projects and more!
Snacks will be provided morning and afternoon. Children must bring their own sack lunch, water bottle, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and backpack. No electronics will be permitted except on field trip days during transportation to and from field trips.
Camp Programming is from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm each day.
Early drop-off (7:00 am-7:45 am) and late pick-up (4pm to 5:15pm) are available for additional fees.

Spring Break Tennis Camp
Age Requirements: 7-18 years
Join us on the courts at GTC for a fun week of tennis! Lead by Head Tennis Pro Pete Polkinghorn, Spring Break Tennis Camp will consist of stroke instruction, footwork drills, court games, and match play, Afternoon programming will continue with camp games, arts-n-crafts, and lots of fun. Mid-morning and afternoon snacks will be provided.

Spring Break Teen Adventure Camp

Ages 12 – 18 years
Where: Lake Mineral Wells State Park / Upper Brazos River
When: March 12 – 16, 2018
Cost: $250 Residents / $315 Nonresidents
Pre-Trip Meeting: Thursday, March 1, 7pm – 8pm at the Georgetown Teen/Senior Center, 1003 N. Austin Ave.
Join us as we rock climb and paddle near the scenic Palo Pinto Mountains. First we’ll head over to Penitentiary Hollow in Mineral Wells State Park for some rock climbing on unique sandstone formations.
Next, we’ll drive over to the Upper Brazos River at the base of Possum Kingdom Lake to begin a 3 day overnight canoe camping trip. We’ll paddle past scenic granite cliffs and narrow canyons on a 20 mile remote stretch of river.
This river is known for good fishing and great sandbar camping spots. We will provide all of the camping and technical gear (tents, sleeping bags, climbing gear, canoes, paddles and life jackets). We will also provide meals when we are not traveling. You will need to bring personal gear and money for 2 meals on the road (about $20).
