3/16/20 – We found this remarkable story written by a reporter in Italy, that had been shared on FB. It’s a first hand report from the now under Lockdown city of Rome.
The author, Mattia Ferraresi, states that the health care system in Italy north is on the brink of collapse because there are so many people sick with the Coronavirus at one time. Also discussed in the article, with pain, is the necessity for doctors to decide who gets care and who doesn’t.
We feel it’s an important and timely perspective. Here’s a brief snippet from the article. Please click on the link below to read on.
“The way to avoid or mitigate all this in the United States and elsewhere is to do something similar to what Italy, Denmark, and Finland are doing now, but without wasting the few, messy weeks in which we thought a few local lockdowns, canceling public gatherings, and warmly encouraging working from home would be enough to stop the spread of the virus. We now know that wasn’t nearly enough.”
