Here’s our working list of places to get help if you need it in Georgetown and Williamson County. This is also a great list of places that could use your financial assistance if you’re able.

The Caring Place
2000 Railroad Drive, Georgetown
The Drive Through Food Pantry and Fresh Food for Family Food Programs are open to neighbors in need, including those that may be in a high-risk health category.  If you have questions about services at The Caring Place, please call 512-943-0700.

• Drive through food distribution is on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  If you walk to The Caring Place, you may receive food at our north gate.
• Fresh Food for Families remains on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.  If you walk to The Caring Place, you may receive produce at our north gate.

Both food programs operate out of the 2000 Railroad Avenue drive though.  The Caring Place practices social distancing, and you will not need to exit your vehicle during food distribution.

St. Helen’s Catholic Church – Society Of St. Vincent De Paul
2700 E University Avenue, Georgetown

Numerous local churches participate in the program to provide food and other assistance to the low income and needy.

Helping Hands of Georgetown
Find them at the 8th Street parking lot across from the library.
Sunday 4:30pm
Monday thru Thursday at 3:15pm
Offers meals for the undeserved, working poor and homeless in our community.

Boys & Girls Club Day Camps – Offering Day Camps for 5-12 year old youth of mission-essential employees important for supporting the infrastructure needed to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in the region.

BGCTX Day Camps will being operating Monday, March 30 and will continue Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 PM until such time that pandemic related emergency child care solutions are no longer required. Find More Details and Applications Here.

Seniors in the region can apply for Meals on Wheels. Staff also assist with SNAP food stamp and WIC applications, offer referrals to soup kitchens, and offer other support.

Gateway Community Church

Assistance in Williamson County includes Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas food baskets, clothing, and free groceries or baby formula.

Information on public, low income housing in the region. In addition, the organization can process applications for section 8 housing vouchers.

Hill Country Community Ministries

Operates a Food Pantry that stocks nonperishable food and essential personal care items. The Thrift Store provides serviceable, gently-used clothing for children and adults, including coats, jackets, new socks and underwear, and blankets. Other assistance includes new shoes for children.
Actively refers clients to other agencies for access to additional community resources to help stabilize their situation.

Offers urgently-needed services to adults and children facing the possibility of homelessness in Williamson County. The Service Center offers intake and assessment of the needs of men, women and children, provides direct services (e.g., food, rent and utility assistance) and refers qualified individuals to other important social services.

Food pantry as well as limited temporary financial assistance for rent, overnight motels, and even gasoline. They also support Taylor Texas as well as the region of Williamson County, and short term rental assistance may be offered.

    At 3 to 4 pm at the 8th street parking lot across from the Library Helping Hands of Georgetown share sandwiches and some Grocery bags Monday’s thru
    Thursday. Stop by let us know how we can help.
