Georgetown, TX: Williamson County celebrated the completion of the CR 245 construction project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The project reconstructed the former two-lane roadway to an interim three-lane roadway, with a center turn lane and right turn lanes at specific locations. The interim roadway is the first phase of a future six-lane roadway. The project improves mobility on the west side of Georgetown near the Ronald Reagan Corridor.
βCounty Road 245 is a significant roadway,β said Precinct 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey. βItβs a well-utilized cut-through for so many people. It takes motorists from Ronald Reagan Boulevard to Williams Drive. The amount of traffic and homes being built on Reagan and Georgetownβs west side make the additional paths a necessity, so this is a great project.β
The CR 245 project was funded through the 2019 voter-approved Road Bond. The construction cost was approximately $6.9 million. The engineer was Bridgefarmer and Associates, Inc., and the contractor was Joe Bland Construction.
