Spring continues to bring all kinds of weather to Georgetown – a little rain here, and a little sunshine there! It’s best to keep an umbrella around for sure.
We’ve got some great updates for you this week in our newsletter. Faith in Action Georgetown is celebrating 20 years of service to our community’s seniors! As part of their 20 year celebration, they’ve got a spectacular concert coming up – get all the details below.
The 2021 Georgetown Texas Area Car Club Show and Charity Benefit has also been rescheduled to May 15th instead of this weekend. You can learn all about the event in the article below and be sure to mark your calendars for two weeks from now!

We’ve got some updates for you from local nonprofits who are adjusting their hours of operation. Preservation Georgetown is going back to their normal hours on May 6th and the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is celebrating their new weekend hours with an adoption special!
In other news, the City of Georgetown has scheduled a virtual town hall to hear from our community’s youth. The Georgetown Recreation Center indoor pool is also going to be closed for a little bit longer as it undergoes further repairs.
And with the month of May just around the corner, we have our Mother’s Day Guide ready for you and several events the City is planning on holding this upcoming May in honor of Preservation Month.

💡 Nonprofit Spotlight: Faith in Action Celebrates 20 Years of Service to Georgetown Seniors
On May 21, the organization will host an outdoor concert at Reunion Ranch in Georgetown, starring country music artist Cory Morrow. The event will feature food trucks, bars and a fireworks show will close out the festivities.
💡 Nonprofit Spotlight: Georgetown Texas Area Car Club Show and Benefit Rescheduled for May 15
UPDATE: The Georgetown Area Car Club Annual Car Show and Charity Benefit has been rescheduled to May 15 due to the forecasted rain and thunder.
Featuring a wide array of over 200 cars, ranging from vintage models to modern-day Corvettes, the display will be held in the Sun City Social Center parking lot. There will be a judged show with 42 or more classes and awards to the top 3 in each class. Special awards will include Best in Show, Best Exterior, Interior, Engine and Long Distance.

Virtual Town Hall to be Held to Hear from Georgetown Youth
The virtual Georgetown Youth Town Hall will feature teens from around the Georgetown community sharing their experiences and perspectives of the COVID-19 pandemic, challenges they perceive or experience in their academic and personal lives, and barriers for youth to participation in community service and event opportunities.
Celebrate Preservation Month with the City of Georgetown
In recognition of National Preservation Month in May, the City of Georgetown Planning, Public Library, and Economic Development departments are partnering with building and business owners to celebrate historic buildings in Downtown Georgetown as part of the recurring Tuesday Talks series.
Other Preservation Month events include an exhibit of historic building paintings at the Georgetown Public Library, a storytelling event at the Williamson Museum, and a tour at the historic IOOF cemetery.
Preservation Georgetown to Resume Normal Office Hours May 6th
Starting May 6, the organization will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Georgetown Recreation Center Indoor Pool to Remain Closed While Undergoing Further Repairs
Georgetown Parks and Recreation said the exact reopening date of the pool is unknown, but the indoor pool will likely not be open before the end of June.
Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter Celebrates New Weekend Hours
