As always, we have plenty of updates for you this week! A local cryotherapy company is offering the benefits of cryo to groups as well as individuals. Plus, a pop-up comedy show called “Don’t Tell Comedy,” is making a stop in Georgetown for the first time – ticket information and the story behind their unique method of comedy shows are in the newsletter below.
We are also excited to bring you a new update about Costco coming to Georgetown! You can also catch the latest information about a new Kilwins coming to town, a new Montessori school that will be opening up in August, a new update on a skincare studio, and the latest on a new bookkeeping business open in town!
Also in our newsletter this week, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is asking for your help by adopting or fostering animals at the shelter. Through Sunday, July 25, the shelter is offering an adoption special – check out the details below!

Hello Georgetown Launches New Weekly Podcast Series
The Poppy Podcast with Sydney Decker will feature the latest community news, business updates and events happening in Georgetown, Texas.
Each episode will be less than 15 minutes and will be released each Saturday morning.

💡 Pop-Up Comedy Show, “Don’t Tell Comedy,” to Make a Stop in Georgetown
Don’t Tell Comedy is coming to Georgetown on Thursday, July 29th at 8:30pm at a secret location in downtown Georgetown.
The premise of the organization’s shows is simple. Attendees purchase tickets for the event, but don’t find out the location or the comedians until the day of the event.
UPDATE: When Is Costco Coming to Georgetown?
The City of Georgetown Planning and Zoning Department listed Costco Wholesale on their agenda for their Tuesday, July 20 meeting.
Kilwins Coming to Georgetown!
Owned and operated by Amber Kurkowski and Michelle Baran, according to the company website, the store will be located at 120 W. 8th Street in Downtown Georgetown. It is expected to open in September 2021.
Cantera Montessori School Coming to Georgetown!
The school is the fifth location of Montessori School of Silicon Valley, which started in California. Cantera Montessori will be the first location in Texas and is opening it’s doors on August 9th.

Officer Jolly Retires from GPD, Will Teach at GISD
Jolly has been serving as a police officer for eight years and told Hello Georgetown it wasn’t easy deciding leave police work, but she’s also excited for this new chapter in her life.
City of Georgetown Seeks Applications for Civic Leadership Academy
The academy will provide a learning experience for existing and emerging leaders to understand City services and functions, while building the skills and knowledge to succeed in City leadership roles. Participants of the program are given the opportunity to develop an understanding of the promises and challenges facing our community, as well as their role as future City leaders.
Wolf Ranch Town Center Hosts Weekly Summer KidX Club Series
Wolf Ranch Town Center will host their new weekly Summer KidX Club series of events starting on Wednesday, July 28 and continuing every Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m through August 11. The free activities aim to engage kids through crafts, science experiments, animals, and more.
WCRAS Asks the Public to ‘Lend a Hand’ through Adoption and Fostering
Interested adopters can help the shelter make space through adoption, including free adoptions for cats and kittens with an appointment or $5 without an appointment. Additionally, through Sunday, July 25, 2021, medium and large adult dogs are only $5 to adopt with an appointment or $20 without an appointment.
WilCo Master Gardeners to Host Free Water Conservation Program
On Saturday, July 24, from 10-11 am, the Williamson County AgriLife Master Gardeners will present a free program on water conservation at the Demonstration Gardens, located at 3151 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown 78626.
Tax Free Weekend Guide – 2021
Tax Free Weekend in Texas will take place starting August 6, 2021 and continue through midnight on August 8, 2021.
