Georgetown Parks and Recreation has announced their 2021 Sunset Movie Series schedule and on June 12, Wolf Ranch is transforming its parking lot into an interactive big truck playground for families and children to get up close to their favorite vehicles, including military tanks, cranes, firetrucks, police cars and more! Eat My Biscuits is the newest food truck addition to the South Fork Fun, Food and Brew food truck line up in Georgetown and features gourmet southern biscuits on the go.
Gypsy Ice Open in Georgetown!
Owned and operated by Nikki Neveau, Gypsy Ice offers shaved ice with all natural flavors made from pure cane sugar and no artificial dyes. They opened in early May.
City Offers Tips on Protecting Family and Pets from the Summer Heat
As temperatures rise, the City wants to remind you to protect your family and pets against hot temperatures and heat-related illness on local summer excursions.
Wolf Ranch Town Center Hosts Touch-A-Truck for Georgetown Families on Saturday, June 12
On Saturday, June 12, Wolf Ranch Town Center will transform its parking lot into an interactive big truck playground for families and children to get up close to their favorite vehicles, including military tanks, cranes, firetrucks, police cars and more.
Over 40 vehicles will be on display. The first hour, from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m., will be sensory friendly with no horns or sirens.
Georgetown Parks and Recreation Announces 2021 Sunset Movie Series Schedule
Each event will be located at the Legacy Pavilion at San Gabriel Park located at 445 E. Morrow St. Those who attend are invited to bring a blanket or chairs and some snacks!
Assistant City Manager Reed Accepts Job as City Manager for City of Cibolo, Texas
Assistant City Manager Wayne Reed has accepted the position as the city manager for the City of Cibolo, Texas. His last day with the City of Georgetown will be June 25. Cibolo City Council approved his hire at its meeting June 8. His first day in Cibolo will be July 12.
Vaccines Available Near Georgetown Public Library
The walk-up site will operate seven days per week, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Individuals 12 and older are eligible to get the Pfizer vaccine offered at the site.
’13 Jewish Drivers’ Licenses’ Exhibit On Display at Georgetown Public Library
The Georgetown Public Library is hosting an exhibit featuring “13 Jewish Drivers’ Licenses: A Tale of Nazi Destruction, Discovery and Reconciliation” from June 27 through the month of July.
City to Host D.B. Wood Road Project Open House June 17
The open house meeting at 6 p.m. will be in the training room at the Public Safety Operations and Training Center, 3500 D.B. Wood Road. A short presentation about the project by City staff will be given at 6 p.m., followed by time for questions and answers.
Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter Partners with Petco Love and BOBS from Skechers to Celebrate Local Pet Foster Volunteers
Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is celebrating National Foster a Pet Month with Petco Love, a national non-profit working to lead and inspire change for animals, and Skechers’ charity footwear collection, BOBS from Skechers, by recognizing lifesaving foster volunteers in Williamson County and encouraging more people to foster pets.

Wolf Ranch Town Center will hold a job fair featuring more than 20 area businesses on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Leave No Trace for Williamson County Preserves” Training to Be Offered Online June 14
The Williamson County Conservation Foundation is offering an online “Leave No Trace for Williamson County Preserves” training for people who want to access County preserve areas.
Williamson County Tax Office Closure Schedule for June
The Williamson County Tax Assessor-Collector’s offices will be closed for staff training from June 15 to June 17, on a rotating schedule. While one office is closed, the other locations will be open during regular business hours.
Juneteenth Guide – 2021
History (via City of Georgetown): Juneteenth marks the day on June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers landed at Galveston and reported that the Civil War was over and slavery had ended. The Emancipation Proclamation freeing the slaves had been in effect since Jan. 1, 1863, but word did not reach Texas for more than two years. Juneteenth was declared an official state holiday in Texas in 1980.
