At Hello Georgetown, our Labor Day weekend involved launching our first edition of the Local Deals Club! We are so excited about this new way to connect you with local businesses and save while you shop. If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s not too late! With September here, there’s lots coming up this month in Georgetown. On September 30, Faith in Action Georgetown will be celebrating 20 years of serving seniors during their annual choral concert. You definitely want to mark your calendars for that event – details about how you can attend are in this week’s newsletter.
Also in Georgetown this week, Theo Mini Donuts is open in Georgetown and serving their special gluten free mini donuts. We’ve also heard word that Teapioca will be opening up a location in Georgetown!
In other news, a proposed park is hoping to bring the twin to the nation’s tallest American flag monument to Georgetown. We have details about the proposal and what the park and monument might look like.
The Georgetown Public Library is hosting a special 9/11 quilt exhibit in recognition of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. You can view the exhibit, and hear from the artist Susan Hoppenworth, a first responder who served in the aftermath of the 2001 attacks, on September 10. An upcoming concert will be celebrating Faith in Action Georgetown’s 20th anniversary of serving seniors on Thursday, September 30 at 7 PM at First Baptist Church Georgetown, 1333 W. University Avenue, Georgetown!
Theo Mini Donuts Open in Georgetown!

Teapioca Coming to Georgetown!
The new location appears to be under construction and will be located at 940 W. University Ave. Ste 118 in Wolf Crossing.
Proposed Inspiration Park to Bring Twin Tallest American Flag Monument to Georgetown
The proposed monument and park will be located on land donated by Champion Site Prep along IH-35 and County Road 143. Before people enter the park, they will pass through an air conditioned entrance and office which will feature education about the monument itself and how it was created, as well as public restrooms and vending machines for visitors.
National Hispanic Heritage Month Events in September
The City of Georgetown is hosting several events to honor National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs Sept. 15-Oct. 15.
Williamson County to Host Career Fair on Sept. 13
For job seekers in and around Williamson County, a career fair will be held Monday, Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at the Williamson County Georgetown Annex, located at 100 Wilco Way in Georgetown.
Williamson County Commissioners Court Approves Resolution to Declare September as Preparedness Month
The Williamson County Commissioners Court approved a resolution recognizing September as National Preparedness Month.
AGE of Central Texas Goes Virtual for 8th Annual, Free Williamson County Caregiver Conference on September 21-23
The annual free event was created to help ease the challenges of caring for an aging family member by providing unpaid caregivers with relevant information and vital resources. Participants will discover local resources, acquire skills to better manage their caregiving situation, and connect with local experts on aging.
Williamson County Judge Mathews Honored by Williamson County Bar Association
On September 2, 2021, the Women’s Law Section of the Williamson County Bar Association presented Judge Stacey Mathews with a Certificate of Excellence in recognition of her commitment to mentorship in the courts. Mathews has served as Judge of the 277th District Court in Williamson County since 2013, and presides over a docket comprised of adult criminal and juvenile cases.
