Hello Georgetown!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! During this season of gratitude, I’d like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who reads, follows and supports Hello Georgetown. Our community is full of individuals, families, businesses, nonprofits, churches and groups who do so much to make Georgetown the wonderful place it is. It’s such a privilege to see all the amazing people who do good, who uplift, who inspire others, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share those stories with all of you – thank you for what you contribute to Georgetown!
In this week’s newsletter, we have plenty of updates for you! First, you’ll want to get your calendar out. With December here, East View High School’s Choir will be performing “A Jolly Holiday” concert next week, tickets are $5 and it’s sure to be a great show! Also coming up, Central Texas Mini Golf will be hosting two events next week, a tequila tasting class and another edition of “Comedy at the Clubhouse!” We have details about both these events in the newsletter below.
With the Christmas season officially underway, you’ll definitely want to check out the 40th Annual Christmas Stroll. This event includes a variety of activities for people of all ages, including a parade on Saturday, December 4 at 10 AM! Get all the details about this year’s event in the newsletter below.
In other community news, JDog Junk Removal & Hauling is officially open in Georgetown! Also, we have an update on a story we published recently about a school crossing guard who will be getting a new home of his own thanks to the generosity of the Georgetown community. Plus, we have the story of a senior dog who has a new home thanks to Living Grace Canine Ranch and The Delaney at Georgetown Village, and a group of local donors has created a matching campaign to help Georgetown nonprofit The Key2Free. Finally, we are just over a week away from our 2nd Annual Make A Smile Happen (or M*A*S*H) donation event! We are so excited to have the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center, Helping Hands of Georgetown, HELP Crisis Assistance, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter and The Playful Child as our beneficiaries this year! On December 11, 2021 from 8 AM to 8 PM at the Ross Dress for Less parking lot, join us for this combined food drive, children/teen gifts drive, pet supply drive and cash donation drive for these amazing nonprofits. We can’t wait to see you there!

🎄 Hello Georgetown Invites Community to Help Make A Smile Happen for Local Non-Profits in 2nd Annual Event
From 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. at the Ross Dress for Less Parking lot located in Wolf Ranch Town Center, community members will be able to drive up to the event tent and drop off their donations. Make A Smile Happen 2021 will focus on four categories for donations: children/teen gifts, food, pet supplies and cash donations.

“I’m just so grateful,” Moe Howard said, who now regularly hears extra encouraging hello’s and kind wishes as people pass by him during his school crossing guard hours. “All these people, I just didn’t know, people cared that much.”
The Delaney at Georgetown Village Becomes Forever Foster Home for Senior Dog
“During resident meal-times, he takes power naps in one of our offices so that he has enough energy to ‘work’ the rest of his shift,” Herndon said. “He spends most of his time working in our memory care community, but does mingle daily with our independent and assisted living folks too. If ever I am walking through the community alone, at least one person asks me, “Where’s George?” He is a part of our family. We love him.”

Williamson-Bell County Pecan Show & Food Show Dec. 17, 2021
Pecans must be from the 2021 crop and grown in Williamson County. Judging will begin at 10 am on Friday Dec 17 after the nuts have been cracked, weighed, and classified.
