Wasn’t Red Poppy Festival 2022 simply phenomenal? It was so fun to see everyone! I already can’t wait for next year!
A lot has been happening in the community this week. Cookie Co. Georgetown has announce a brand new happy hour! Every Monday through Thursday from 3 PM to 5 PM, stop by the shop for a four pack of cookies and get a fifth cookie free! These packs are a great way to try each week’s flavors and are perfect for sharing. You can learn more in the newsletter below.
Central Texas Mini Golf is hosting a special event called Adventures in Gin on Wednesday, May 4th. Attendees will learn about the history, styles, and basics of gin while enjoying a drink. Seats are limited, check out all the details in the article in this week’s newsletter.
Looking to Georgetown’s music scene, local artist Isabella Hope has released her very first single! The song, “Sober Text” is an original piece and can now be heard on all major listening platforms. Learn more about the song and her story below.
In business news, we’ve learned about two businesses who recently opened in the community: 512 Swimming Co. and Austin LED Supply!
Also this week, we’ve got some great stories for you including how two local businesses are supporting the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center, a very special wedding held at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, and several upcoming community events.
Finally, Mother’s Day is just around the corner! We’ve updated the early edition of our guide, but will be updating it over the next several days with lots of new details, so be sure to check back often!

It’s that time of year where we all say thanks to Mom! Here are some events and activities happening for Mother’s Day this year!
⭐ Business Spotlight: Cookie Co. Georgetown Announces New Cookie Happy Hour!
Happy hour at Cookie Co. Georgetown will take place Monday through Thursday from 3 PM to 5 PM at their store located at 1500 Rivery Blvd, Ste 310 at The Summit at Rivery. During happy hour, customers who purchase a four pack get one cookie free!
⭐ Event Spotlight: Central Texas Mini Golf to Host “Adventures in Gin” on May 4
“While sipping on our very own name sake Gin product you will learn about its dubious past, its rise and fall and rise again in social prevalence,” Central Texas Mini Golf said. “Learn about the predominant styles of Gin. Learn the basics of gin distillation. You will also learn how to make 2 classic gin cocktails!”
Attendees will learn from Head Distiller Andrew McClellan of A.W. Craft Distillery.
⭐ Local Spotlight: Georgetown Artist Isabella Hope Releases First Single
“My song, “Sober Text” was inspired by my experiences as a high schooler, and fears that what I have to say might not be accepted by my peers, or that my ideas will be overlooked,” Isabella Hope, an independent artist in Georgetown, TX, told Hello Georgetown. “I was inspired by the fact that I had yet to hear a song that expresses the way I was feeling, but I am glad that other people can relate to it!”

“512 Swim Co. was founded in 2022 by bringing our love and respect of the water together with our passion of working with children,” Jenessa Trebatoski, owner and swim instructor, told Hello Georgetown. “Being nestled in a geographic location near lakes, rivers and backyard swimming pools, we are excited to bring Survival Swim awareness and education to the greater Austin area! We specialize in Infant and Toddler Survival Swim Lessons and provide Adaptive Aquatic Swim Lessons for children with Autism (ASD) and other sensory disorders.”

Georgetown Public Library Giving Away Free Milkweed Plants
“Milkweed is a critical component in the annual migratory flight of monarch butterflies,” the Library said.
UPDATE: At this time, all available plants have been reserved, but please read on to learn about how milkweed helps the annual migration of monarchs through Texas.

The $11,000 check comprises one dollar from every kid’s meal sold during the past year, as well as 10% of ticket sales from the recent Crawfish Boil event at Hard Count Kitchen & Cocktails, 2020 Market’s sister restaurant, also located at The Summit at Rivery Park.
Blood Drive at the Georgetown Recreation Center on May 6
The City of Georgetown will host a blood drive May 6 for We Are Blood, the nonprofit community blood supplier for Central Texas.
Georgetown Parks and Recreation Announces 2022 Sunset Movie Series Lineup
“Georgetown Parks and Recreation’s Sunset Movie Series is a free summer film series,” the department said. “Bring a blanket or chairs, some snacks and enjoy the family movies we have scheduled this summer. Come out early for free popcorn and activities! All movies will begin at dusk, around 8:30 p.m.”
City to Host Household Hazardous Waste Event May 18
The event will be available for up to 200 Georgetown solid waste customers who have solid waste service through Texas Disposal Systems. Customers must contact Customer Care at 512-930-3640 or customercare@georgetown.org to have their names placed on a list.
