A very happy Mother’s Day weekend to all the amazing women in our community! Georgetown is filled with mother hearts and we are all better for each and every one of you. Whether you have kids of your own, offer love and mentorship to others or serve those around you in other ways, we see you and we appreciate all you do!
There has been plenty of activity in our community this week! Cookie Co. Georgetown has announced a weekly cookie happy hour, and the Georgetown music scene has a new song to sing! Local artist Isabella Hope released her very first single recently and we have all the details!
In business news, H-E-B broke ground on their brand new store on University Avenue this week! The new store is expected to be complete in Spring 2023 and will replace the store currently located right off IH-35. Also, we have an update on newcomer guide BeLocal Georgetown’s upcoming launch on May 20th, and we’ve also learned D & L Printing is under new ownership!
Also in this week’s news, the Georgetown Public Library has announced their Book Club in a Bag kits will soon be available for online reservation, and the City of Georgetown is breaking ground on the South Lake Water Treatment Plant on May 10.

It’s that time of year where we all say thanks to Mom! Here are some events and activities happening for Mother’s Day this year!
⭐ Business Spotlight: Cookie Co. Georgetown Announces New Cookie Happy Hour!
Happy hour at Cookie Co. Georgetown will take place Monday through Thursday from 3 PM to 5 PM at their store located at 1500 Rivery Blvd, Ste 310 at The Summit at Rivery. During happy hour, customers who purchase a four pack get one cookie free!
⭐ Local Spotlight: Georgetown Artist Isabella Hope Releases First Single
“My song, “Sober Text” was inspired by my experiences as a high schooler, and fears that what I have to say might not be accepted by my peers, or that my ideas will be overlooked,” Isabella Hope, an independent artist in Georgetown, TX, told Hello Georgetown. “I was inspired by the fact that I had yet to hear a song that expresses the way I was feeling, but I am glad that other people can relate to it!”
UPDATE: Newcomer Guide “BeLocal” Coming to Georgetown!
The guide will help newcomers quickly plug in to the Georgetown community, and will feature topics like the Top 10 Things to Do When You Get to Georgetown, TX, a full Dining Guide, a welcome letter from Mayor Josh Schroeder and more!
UPDATE: H-E-B Breaks Ground on New Store in Georgetown!
This new store, located on University Avenue next to Raising Cane’s, will replace the current location off IH-35 and is scheduled to open Spring 2023.
D & L Printing Under New Ownership!
Now owned and operated by John Montgomery, this company is the second printing business that he owns in Georgetown. He purchased the business, as well as the building and land.
Election Day is Saturday, May 7
Polling locations are open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on election day. Voters may cast ballots at any polling location in Williamson County.
City to Host Lifeguard Hiring Event May 13
The Parks and Recreation Department currently has 20 lifeguards on staff, about one-third of the more than 60 needed to fully operate pools this summer.
Georgetown Public Library Adds Online Option for Book Club Reservations
The Georgetown Public Library has announced patrons will be able to reserve their Book Club in a Bag kits online starting May 9! The reservations will be available directly through the library’s catalog.
City of Georgetown to Break Ground on South Lake Water Treatment Plant May 10
The new plant will double the treatment capacity of the water utility with planned construction completion in two phases from 2025-2026.
Learn How to Grow Fruit Trees in Free May 9 Workshop
“Did you know that peaches, pears, and figs are among the easiest fruit trees to grow in Central Texas,” according to the Master Gardeners of the AgriLife Extension Office. “Colleen Dieter is the owner/founder of Red Wheelbarrow Plants and Central Texas Seed Savers. She’s a life-long gardener and has over a decade of experience helping Central Texas homeowners design their lawns and landscapes. Colleen will present a FREE program on fruit trees and guide you in selecting the ones that grow best in Williamson County.”
