In this week’s newsletter, Huntington Learning Center has their monthly Education Spotlight, and we continue our series Becoming Anchored where we get to know the team and mission at Anchored Wellness!
We’d also like to give a big hello to our newest Business Directory member: Bader House of Georgetown! Formerly, The Reserve at Georgetown, Bader House serves with love, compassion and a deep understanding of the intricacies of dementia, and remains steadfast in the commitment to provide individualized, uncompromised care to those with memory loss and to their families. In business news, Michael Dyer DMD has officially opened in their new location, Skinner’s Screens has moved back to their original location following renovations and Fleet Foot has opened in Georgetown! Plus, we’ve heard UFCU may be coming to Georgetown!
I’d also like to give a big shoutout to everyone who participated in our 1st Annual Georgetown’s Most Eligible Bachelor and Bachelorette Contest! Congrats to Andy Webb and Jennifer Cass who are this year’s winners!
Also, if you’re counting down the days to Red Poppy Fest, then you’ll be excited to know that Jack Ingram will headline at Poppy Fest this year!

⭐ Education Spotlight: Helping Your Child Develop a Game Plan to Raise Their Grades Before the End of the School Year
Ajith Varghese, Director of the Georgetown Huntington Learning Center says that if your child isn’t where they should be by now, it’s time to develop a game plan to raise their grades before the last school bell of the year rings.
⭐Business Spotlight: Becoming Anchored (Part 5) - Finding Wellness in Simple Ways
“Personal wellness is a journey, she added, and involves taking small and consistent steps everyday to create change,” Melissa Vasquez, licensed massage therapist, esthetician and owner of Armonia 4:16 at Anchored Wellness, said. “Adding an extra glass of water to your daily intake, adding something green to your diet or simply giving yourself permission to end your day a little early to decompress.”
💡 New Business Directory Member: Bader House of Georgetown
Bader House of Georgetown is solely dedicated to caring for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Every employee is trained extensively to understand and anticipate the unique needs of each individual we are privileged to care for.
Michael Dyer DMD Open in New Location in Georgetown!
The new building officially opened in the end of January and the team has moved all operations to the new location.
Skinner’s Screens Relocates Back to Original, Renovated Location!
Mike Montgomery, Project Manager at Skinner’s Screens, told Hello Georgetown the original building was originally built in 1960 and hadn’t been updated since except for a few minor modifications.

A sign posted at the old Capital One location at 4409 Williams Drive reads, “Coming Soon.”
Fleet Feet Open in Georgetown!
Located at 4500 Williams Drive next to Subway, the business focuses on helping runners, walkers and fitness enthusiasts of all abilities find the best fitting shoe.
Jack Ingram to Headline Red Poppy Festival
Ingram’s singles include “Love You,” “Wherever You Are,” “Barefoot and Crazy,” and “Lips of an Angel.”
St. David’s Georgetown Hospital Names New Chief Operating Officer
St. David’s Georgetown Hospital has named Mark Gorham as its new chief operating officer. In this role, Gorham oversees multiple departments, including surgery, laboratory, radiology, engineering, environmental and dietary services. He will also serve as the hospital’s ethics and compliance officer.
Georgetown Field of Honor Donates $31,000 to Nonprofits
The Georgetown Field of Honor has donated $31,000 to veteran and first responder nonprofits thanks to funds generated during the 2021 Field of Honor.
Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter Offering President's Day Adoption Special
“From Feb. 21 to Feb. 27, WCRAS is offering an adoption special of $21 for medium to large adult dogs and adult cats when you schedule an appointment by emailing adoption@wilco.org,” the county said.
