Another week in the books for the new year!
Lots of things are happening in our community, so get your calendars ready! McCasland Christian Academy is holding an open house on January 19, parents of students in kindergarten through 5th grade who are interested are invited to attend. Also coming up this month, East View High School Theater is presenting “A Chorus Line,” from January 27th through the 29th.

In other news, Lone Star Shutter & Blind Co is open, and Sylvan Learning Center is coming to our community! Also, the Chase the Chief 5K has opened up a virtual option for runners who would like to participate from home, and the Better Business Bureau has five resolutions they’re encouraging everyone to make for a fraud free 2022.
With February just around the corner, Hello Georgetown also launched our 1st Annual Georgetown’s Most Eligible Bachelor and Bachelorette Contest, brought to you by Spa Luxe! There are some great prizes for this year’s winners, so be sure to check out the details! Also, with Martin Luther King Jr. Day coming up, we’ve been hard at work updating our guide for the holiday.
One more thing for your calendars. The basketball season for Southwestern University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams is in full gear! If you haven’t had a chance to see the Pirates in action, check out their schedule in the newsletter below to find an upcoming game to attend!

⭐Event Spotlight: McCasland Christian Academy Holding Open House Jan. 19
“Our Open House is a come and go event for families interested in our K-5th grade program to learn more about MCA, what we have to offer and what our future holds,” the academy told Hello Georgetown. “This will also give interested parents an opportunity to speak with each teacher, ask any questions they may have about curriculum and learn more information regarding our move to the new campus.”

City Announces Schedule for MLK Day Closings Jan. 17
City of Georgetown offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 17, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. There will be normal solid waste and recycling collection on Jan. 17.
Williamson County Announces MLK Jr. Day Closures
Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, January 17, in observance of the Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Day holiday. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, located at 1855 S.E. Inner Loop in Georgetown, will be open on MLK Jr. Day from noon to 6 p.m.
