Hello Georgetown!
What a roller coaster of weather! Be sure to keep both your sweaters and your t-shirts within reach this time of year.
This week, we have some exciting updates for you! First, if you’ve not gotten tickets for the East View High School Theater production of “A Chorus Line,” do that today! It’s a show you don’t want to miss. Get your seat for any of the performances which start January 27 and go through January 29.
We also want to give a big welcome to our newest business directory member, The Social Pup! If you’ve got a dog in need of some training, be sure to check them out! You can read their full Business Directory listing in this week’s newsletter.
In business news, we’ve learned Dutch Bros is officially coming to Georgetown! Plus, the winners of the 2021 Best of Georgetown, Texas contest have been announced! Congrats to everyone who won and everyone who was nominated! It is so fun to live in a town full of so many amazing local businesses!
Also this week, the candidate filing period has started for the City Council District 3, 4 and 7 elections, and the Georgetown Arts and Culture Board has awarded grants for 2022 Round I.
Finally, it may seem far away, but February, and consequently, Valentine’s Day, is just around the corner! We’ve launched our 1st Annual Georgetown’s Most Eligible Bachelor and Bachelorette Contest brought to you by Spa Luxe! Entering takes just a few minutes and the prizes awaiting this year’s winners are amazing! Get details on that contest, plus all the other upcoming Valentine’s Day events and specials in our annual Valentine’s Day guide.

Seeds of Strength Gearing Up for Annual Wine, Women, Chocolate and Giving Event
The event will take place at the Celebrino Event Center at 51 County Road 107 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. RSVP by February 3 and register at seedsofstrength.org under Events.
💡 New Business Directory Member: The Social Pup
The Social Pup is a boutique provider of puppy socialization classes and certified professional dog training, using positive reinforcement methods. Owner and instructor Leannah Fulmer is a certified professional dog trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, as well as a Certified Puppy Behavior Consultant through Foote and Friends. She also holds a B.A. in English from The University of Texas at Austin.
Dutch Bros Coming to Georgetown!
The Georgetown location is on track to open sometime this year.
Candidate Filing Period Starts for District 3, 4 and 7 Elections
The first day to file for a place on the ballot for candidates who wish to run for the District 3, 4, or 7 Georgetown City Council seat is Wednesday, Jan. 19. The filing deadline is Friday, Feb. 18.

Georgetown Arts and Culture Board Awards Grants for 2022 Round I
The Georgetown Arts and Culture Board approved $9,284 in grants in January to local arts and culture organizations to help with funding local arts and culture programming that includes visual art, music, and performance art in Georgetown.
Volunteers Needed for Tree-Planting Event Feb. 26
The City of Georgetown is calling for volunteers to help plant 30 trees in San Gabriel Park. Volunteers and staff will be planting native and adapted shade trees from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 26, to beautify and add shading to a popular area of the park.
