Can you believe it’s already November? The weather sure has switched gears – fall is here for sure!
In this week’s newsletter, we have several updates to share with you. This weekend, the 5th Annual Georgetown Field of Honor starts and will continue from November 6 through November 14. During the week, there will be several activities and events, and as always, the amazing display of 1,500+ American flags, each dedicated to a veteran, active duty military or first responder. In business news, we’ve got an update on Little Land Georgetown reopening in Georgetown! The business serves children of all ages and abilities, and offers a fun and developmentally appropriate play gym for families to play together while children develop fundamental skills. We also have an update for you on Bear’s Compounding Pharmacy coming to Georgetown! The business has announced it’s grand opening for November 13th from 12 PM to 4 PM.
Also in this week’s newsletter, the City of Georgetown has hired two assistant city managers, and we have the unofficial election results from the November 2 election. Plus, the Best of Georgetown nomination has officially opened up, so it’s time to go nominate your favorite businesses!

⭐ Nonprofit Spotlight: Roaring ’20s Mini Golf Gala to Celebrate Faith in Action’s 20 Years of Service
This event will feature a mini golf tournament followed by dinner in an elegant tented outdoor area. Live jazz will accompany the evening that will also include raffle items such as a charcoal grill from ACE Hardware, a live Elvis impersonator and other fun items. There will also be silent auction items for attendees to bid on.
⭐ Event Spotlight: 5th Annual Georgetown Field of Honor Kicks Off November 6
The 5th Annual Field of Honor® – hosted by the Rotary Club of Georgetown and presented by SportClips Haircuts – is set to amaze and touch the hearts of visitors over the week of November 6 – 14.

UPDATE: Little Land Georgetown Reopening in Georgetown!
With nearly 20 years of working with children as a pediatric Occupational Therapist, Debbie Beltz, has long had a dream of opening a facility where all kids could play together. This dream came to life as Little Land.
UPDATE: Bear's Compounding Pharmacy Coming to Georgetown!
The business will open it’s doors on Saturday, November 13 and will hold their grand opening celebration that same day from 12 PM to 4 PM.
Best of Georgetown 2021 Nomination Period Open November 1
“Where’s the best food and drink in Georgetown,” Visit Georgetown, Texas wrote. “Where’s your favorite place to shop? What are the best things to do? During the month of November, nominate and vote in the online poll for the Best of Georgetown TX with 44 categories for local businesses, attractions, services, and activities in Georgetown.”
Veterans Day Events in Georgetown, Texas
The annual Veterans Day Ceremony in Georgetown is at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza, 2 Texas Drive. The 5th Annual Georgetown Field of Honor also begins on Saturday, November 6 and runs through November 14. Veterans can also stop by Nothing Bundt Cakes for a special thank you courtesy of Wolf Ranch – details are in the link below.
Georgetown Hires Two Assistant City Managers
After a nationwide recruitment search conducted by Affion Public, City Manager David Morgan has appointed Nick Woolery and Police Chief Wayne Nero as assistant city managers. Their first day will be Dec. 6.
Election Results - November 2, 2021
Georgetown voters voted on several proposed City Charter amendments, Texas Constitution amendments, school bond elections and the City Council District 6 race.
Friends of the Georgetown Public Library Honor Memory of Beloved Volunteer and Long Time Member
Martha Lawlor served as president of the organization from 2007 to 2009 and served on the Board of Directors for many years. She also played an instrumental role in many milestones with the Friends of the Georgetown Public Library.
Southwestern University Football – 2021
Georgetown is home to Texas’ first university, Southwestern University! In addition to their great academics, they also have great athletics!
