Speaking of events, have you purchased your tickets to Faith in Action Georgetown’s Roaring ’20s Mini Golf Gala? The event is sure to be full of fun – you don’t want to miss out! Learn more about the event and where you can purchase tickets in the newsletter below.
The Mini Golf Gala isn’t the only event you’ll want to make sure is on your calendar. Wolf Ranch is holding their annual Boo & Brew on Saturday, October 23rd where you can enjoy activities for the whole family, and their brand new All You Can Carry Pumpkin Patch benefitting the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center!
Also, add to your calendar the upcoming 5th Annual Georgetown Field of Honor from November 6 – 14 at San Gabriel Park, and on November 7, the Central Texas Philharmonic will be hosting a patriotic concert honoring veterans and first responders. Both of these events are sure to be moving and memorable!

Adopt a Pet in Georgetown, Texas
Georgetown is home to many wonderful animal shelters! We’ve teamed up with Wolf Ranch Town Center to bring you a page where you can see all the animals available for adoption at the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter located at 1855 S.E. Inner Loop in Georgetown, TX.
Also on the page, you’ll find helpful information about how you can adopt any of these animals, or help the shelter with fostering or reclaiming your lost pet.
⭐ Nonprofit Spotlight: Roaring ’20s Mini Golf Gala to Celebrate Faith in Action’s 20 Years of Service
This event will feature a mini golf tournament followed by dinner in an elegant tented outdoor area. Live jazz will accompany the evening that will also include raffle items such as a charcoal grill from ACE Hardware, a live Elvis impersonator and other fun items. There will also be silent auction items for attendees to bid on.
⭐ Event Spotlight: Wolf Ranch Town Center Celebrates Halloween with Annual Boo & Brew Event
Boo & Brew offers families a fun, interactive location for kids to sport their best costumes and trick-or-treat. Children can enjoy entertaining activities including pumpkin crafts, creepy crawly critters, balloon animals and more, while the adults can treat their taste buds with cold beer at the beer tent, hosted by local non-profit The Texas Fallen Project.
⭐ Nonprofit Spotlight: 2021 Central Texas Field of Honor® Set to Inspire and Amaze Georgetown November 6-14
The Field of Honor® provides an opportunity to thank our men, women – and K9 and equestrian units – of the Armed Forces and First Responders for defending our country, our freedoms, and our way of life, and who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.” It is also a visible way to inspire gratitude, peace, and unity – a hallmark of Rotary.
⭐ Business Spotlight: Restoration Oaks Co. Connecting Family and Community Through Handmade Furniture
Through Restoration Oaks Co., owner Brad Wright said he hopes to help reconnect families and friends, whether it’s gathering around a custom made dinner table, or sitting on the front porch in handmade chairs.
⭐ Event Spotlight: Central Texas Philharmonic November 7th Concert to Honor Veterans, First Responders
“On November 7, 2021 at 5:00 pm, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Georgetown’s Field of Honor®, Central Texas Philharmonic will present a Patriotic Pops Program honoring our nations veterans and active-duty military personnel,” the organization said. “The Symphonic Salute program features patriotic favorites that celebrate the spirit and resolve of our nation’s brave men and women in uniform.”

Owned and operated by John and Elizabeth Huennekens, the company specializes in providing customers a menu that is both “uniquely supreme,” and “intentionally local.”
New Clarity Eye Center Location Coming to Georgetown!
The new location is under construction at the corner of Lakeway and Northwest Blvd, next to Frost Elementary.
Southwestern University Inaugurates 16th President Laura Trombley
Speakers during the inauguration highlighted the historic nature of President Trombley’s installment. In addition to being the 16th president of the university since it’s beginnings in 1840, President Trombley is also the first women to lead Southwestern University in that role.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day to Have Drop Off Locations in Georgetown October 23
“October 23 is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day,” according to the Health Williamson County Facebook page. “Organized by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Take-Back Day provides a safe and convenient way of disposing of prescription drugs (controlled and non-controlled). Keeping these medications in the house can put pets and kids at risk, and disposing of them in other ways can harm the environment.”
All Things Wild Rehabilitation Welcomes New Team Member Dr. Emily Crews
“Lately at All Things Wild, Emily has been especially busy with the injured snapping turtle; Sam, the screech owl who is healing from a broken leg; several fawns with leg injuries; and an unusual red-tailed hawk,” the organization said. “She has also been working on reorganizing the ATW medical area. We appreciate the fact that she is training the staff to be even better at caring for wild birds and animals. Welcome, Dr. Crews, and thank you for loving wild animals as much as we do!”
